Director of Premium Finance
As Director of Premium Finance for Vérité, Cathy oversees banking relationships for the firm, and is responsible for loan structuring, underwriting and implementation. Her experience and extensive knowledge in these areas make her a truly invaluable resource for Vérité’s clients.
Cathy brings over 15 years of finance expertise to Vérité. Her most recent position was as the Assistant Vice President of Operations at FIRST Insurance Funding Corp, the largest Premium Finance lender in the country. Prior to that she was Assistant Vice President at Wachovia Bank for over 5 years.
In May of 2016, Cathy welcomed her first child, Anthony James. She loves to travel and returns to her native Italy, as often as she can, to visit her family.
Why did you join the Vérité team?
Formerly with Wintrust Financial, I was the Senior Account Manager/Operations Coordinator working with some of the top premium finance firms in the country. After 10 years on the banking side of the business I was more interested in working directly with clients and helping them meet their individual goals. In 2015, the opportunity to work with Vérité Group, LLC presented itself and since then I have helped over numerous individuals meet their individual life insurance funding goals.
What are you most passionate about in your work?
I am motivated by making the premium finance funding process as simple, transparent, and compliant as possible for each of Vérité’s clients. Having established core principals and funding guidelines, I am happy to say that none of our clients have missed any of their premium payments.
What does Expanding What’s Possible mean to you?
Bridging the connection between lender and insurance carrier, I am able to help clients who have better use of their dollars pay for the insurance they need, not what they are willing to pay for.
Why is Truth and Transparency so important when working with a Premium Finance Professional?
While working with Wintrust Financial, I helped other premium finance professionals fund thousands of individual transactions. While some of these large-scale transactions would last, others would fall apart over the long-term unexpectedly. From my point of view, disclosing all potential risks up front to each client is what makes for a successful premium finance transaction that lasts.
What is your most rewarding client experience?
All of our clients have unique needs and goals, but the common thread that binds all of them together is the ability to establish a legacy that lasts beyond their respective lives. In every case, the initial creation of their premium finance contract, though special, is only the first piece of the puzzle. I am reminded at every annual renewal date of our clients’ insurance policies just how important that renewal funding is to them. Making sure each of these is completed early and without pause has led to multiple personal relationships with advisors and clients that Vérité services.
When outside the office, where might I find you?
Outside of Vérité, you may find me supporting my partner, Jimmy, at his triathlon events, raising our son Anthony, baking Nutella stuffed chocolate chip cookies or a delectable tiramisu, as well as visiting my family in Italy.
